The Mark Carniato Wedding Photography Team were delighted to film and photograph the wonderful wedding of Ellyse and Cameron.  The bride and groom were indeed a  beautiful couple who were always cheerful and made photographing and filming their special day a great pleasure!

The Love Story

A couple of nerds unlucky in love, who met online (almost) 3 years to the day, finally said "I do" on 18 March 2017.

Looking back on our engagement, there were more times than we could count on all our married fingers that we felt like or were told that we "should have eloped!" Family dynamics, financial stress, ill health - these are all things that can make or break a young couple, but for some reason we thrived on it. We've come to realise that life is a roller coaster, and it stops for no one, no event and no thing. But every now and then a fairytale happens in an ordinary life (or out of our organised yet chaotic existence!) We are so glad we didn't elope. Our day was more perfect than we could have imagined, and all the more special shared with all of our loved ones.

"Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around." (Our favourite quote from Love Actually, read during our ceremony.)

Your wedding day is like an out of body experience, and it goes by so quickly. Every time we blinked we missed something, and time sped up the more we stopped and pinched ourselves, and tried out "hubby" and "wifey". Our biggest advice to engaged couples is to hire a videographer along with your photographer to capture your wedding day. In hindsight it was one of our very best decisions! We simply cannot wait to relive our magical day on film in the years to come, whenever we like. Our perfect little fairytale captured and always remembered. xx    -    Ellyse Howe

Groom's Preparation Wedding Photography and Video Shoot

Our Photography and Videography team commenced their day at the groom’s preparation which took place at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in St Kilda, Melbourne.  The excitement of the day was clearly visible with the groom and the groomsmen being joyful, happy and looking forward to the day’s grand events.  Everybody was looking sharp and the husband to be was looking quite dashing in his well tailored suit and his shiny new shoes.

Bride's Preparation Wedding Photography and Video Shoot

The bride's preparation also took place at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in St Kilda, Melbourne. And no, for those who may be wondering. . . there was no sneak peek of the bride from the groom. Tradition is the way to go and well done Cameron and Ellyse for honouring that tradition, as we know how tempting it is for two love birds to see each other on their wedding day!  Ellyse made a stunning bride and was a natural to photograph and film. The bridesmaids also looked very beautiful in their elegant gowns.

Marriage Ceremony

It was an intimate wedding ceremony which was held at the St Kilda Botanical Gardens. The scenery was breath taking which created a truly memorable occasion, the Marriage Celebrant was Mike Larkan, the weather man from Channel 10. Mike read out the weather report before the ceremony for those who missed it that morning. It was a sunny day, a high of 30 degrees, light winds with a high pressure system moving in from the east. The guests were seated waiting excitedly for the gorgeous bride to walk down the aisle and meet her thrilled and very happy groom.

Bridal Party Photo and Video Shoot

The Bridal party’s video and photo shoot took place at the St Kilda Botanical Gardens.  The gardens are majestic and fresh, creating an exquisite backdrop for the photo shoot. The main photography technique used being off camera flash photography to front light the couple against the back lit sun.

Wedding Reception Celebration

The wedding reception was hosted at a lovely venue called Mardo’s, in Port Melbourne.  From the moment the newly-weds Cameron and Ellyse entered the building, the celebration began on a grand note. From the cutting of the cake to the first dance, it was so obvious the love Cameron and Ellyse share, they truly are a match made in heaven. The dance floor was buzzing with exhilaration and enthusiasm, thanks to the clean and polished sounds from the 4 piece band 'Close Quarters'.

Congratulations Cameron and Ellyse!
